There has been a recent arrival of Link PNG’s new acquisition, the first Q402 aircraft into Port Moresby Jackson’s International airport.
Although Air Niugini did operate this aircraft type some years back, the current airport upgrades and lower lease rates have now made this aircraft type more economically efficient than it was in the past.
For now, this aircraft will be operating to routes that are planned for runway upgrade under the Civil Aviation Development Investment Program (CADIP) this year. They include Rabaul, Alotau, Madang and Kavieng.
The second Q402 aircraft is scheduled to be delivered at the end of next month.
