ITA Airways is owned by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance for the exercise of business in the air transport sector. The airline started active service in 2020. Being the flag carrier of Italy, it replaced its predecessor, Alitalia. The airline’s main hub is Rome Fiumicino Airport and flies to several destinations across the world, including countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas.

ITA Airways has a fleet of next-generation aircraft relying on advanced technologies to optimize the efficiency and quality of the aircraft and thereby reduce environmental impact. The aircraft consists of Airbus A350-900, Airbus A220-300, Airbus A320neo, and Airbus A330-900neo. The technologically advanced aircraft ensures the airline’s goal of serving the passengers with more comfort, quality, and efficiency, with a focus on lessening the negative impacts on the environment.

ITA Airways has interline agreements with Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, Neos, Qantas, Swiss International Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, and Vistara. ITA Airways announces that it has obtained the renewal of the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification, a program of the International Air Transport Association, IATA, to evaluate the control and operational management systems of an airline.

ITA Airways’ loyalty program, Volare, is designed for travel lovers. The loyal passengers can earn points for every euro they spend on ITA Airways flights and services. Using the accumulated points, the travelers can also enjoy the benefits of the program’s exclusive Clubs (Smart, Plus, Premium, and Executive), depending on their option to fly. The airline flies to over 70 scheduled domestic, European, and intercontinental destinations. ITA Airways serves 64 destinations, in Italy, Europe, North Africa, Asia, and North and South America. ITA plans to serve 74 destinations and 89 routes by 2025. The national airline of Italy, ITA Airways is planning to launch direct flights from Rome to Accra starting June 6, 2024, operating three weekly flights connecting Rome and Accra until June 30, 2024. Upon commencement of these flights, ITA Airways will proudly stand as the exclusive airline offering direct connectivity between Rome and Accra – significantly enhancing travel options for passengers.
