Air Botswana is the national flag carrier of Botswana, with its headquarters located in Gaborone. Founded in 1972, the airline primarily operates scheduled domestic and regional flights from its main base at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport. Air Botswana’s fleet comprises the new generation ATR72-600 turbo-propeller aircraft and the EMBRAER E-170 Jet. The technical team is experienced in carrying out the maintenance procedures of the airframe, engine, and avionics checks are done at regular intervals, in strict adherence to the manufacturers’ specifications and full compliance with local and international civil aviation regulations.

Air Botswana is a member of the African Airlines Association (AFRAA), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The airline was recognized as the Best Airline-Regional Services (Feather Awards, 2016) by the Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA).

Air Botswana’s main domestic route is between Gaborone and Francistown, which is a commercial, industrial, and transport hub, and one of the oldest urban settlements in the country. The main routes of Air Botswana that support tourism in a significant way are its direct service between Johannesburg and Maun, the gateway to the great Okavango Delta, and between Maun and Kasane on the Chobe River.
